While digging around for Old-Timey CDs at CDBaby, I ran across this one that includes an old (but young) friend, Rushad Eggleston. Since there have been discussions of various fusions, I thought this would be worth mentioning.

I suggest starting with their version of the Gillian Welch song, Orphan Girl.
Rushad’s a real character. For his admission to Berklee, IIRC, he played some Bluegrass on the cello. He was up for an Emmy a couple of years back as part of Fiddlers 4, along with Darol Anger, Bruce Molsky, and Michael Doucet. (Losing to Doc Watson probably wasn’t too embarassing.) http://www.rosebudus.com/Fiddlers4/Eggleston.html I think he was the first Berklee student to be nominated for an Emmy while still in school. He’s a very hot flatpicker–and never uses a capo. We used to jam on guitar just about every week during his last year of high school. It was quite amazing to see him playing all over the neck.
He’s also as nice as anyone you could ever hope to meet, and I think he deserves to be more widely known.

), who “is currently working on his Ph. D. in Biology at MIT, where he researches the molecular and cellular basis of aging.”
