OT - Comment from Tommy Martin?

(Mark) McGwire said if he lived in St. Louis, “I’d be here all of time. I just don’t live here.”

I’d be there too, and I am…

It’s the steroids, Jim.

… Cubs suck dot com? Harsh.

But I’ve known that since 1969. Weren’t the Cardinals tearing it up with Lou Brock (from the Cubs) back in the mid-to-late 1960s? We got Ernie Broglio.

Typical… the Cubs cut or trade a player and they go on to greatness… Greg Maddox comes to mind. They have him back, but it seems a little late in the game. No pun intended.

Hey, if you had to play sessions in bars jammed with Cubs fans, or had to take a train jammed to the rafters with (drunken) baseball fans from out of town, or tried to drive anywhere on the north side when the Cubs are in town, tried to park anywhere within 2 miles of Wrigley Field, or have watched the team lose game after game, title after title, year after year, while the Tribune company just gets richer and richer, you’d get pretty irritated with the Cubs organization and Cubs fans in general. It seems only right and fitting when a good team like the Cards comes to town and humiliates the home team, at least the Cub fans will be quiet when my friends and I are trying to have a tune. Go Cards!

1908 since their last title, and I hope they never do win one because life will be unbearable here if they do…Some people here are FINALLY getting over the 1985 Bears winning the Super Bowl, and it only took 20 middling to lousy seasons to do that!

So, are you saying that Cards fans (or any visiting team’s fans) are any easier to deal with? It’s pretty much the same in any town where you have a professional sports team, and Chicago has… what… five?

B-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A!
