I’ve always admired her (for her musicianship I hasten to add) and now that I hear she says con-TRO’-versy I love her to bits. To me that’s the natural pronunciation, based on an armchair analysis of stress shifts in English word forms that I once indugled in to try to clarify things for a French speaker.
Mind you I wonder when the pronunciation of her name changed to Tick-ELL’, which strikes me as entirely un-English.

And so an obviously talented and intelligent woman is marginalized to how she looks once again. You know, it’s not that there are no women in the music, it’s that they are not respected and given their due as artists and musicians.
I tend to agree but I think you could lighten up a bit. The world is full of stupid men, get used to it. As for Kathryn T, her musicianship and achievements are so obvious and so widely recognized that I don’t think there’s any danger of her being marginalized.
“Get used to it”… a typical male response when confronted by their own self-centered stupidity.
… Of course, sadly, that’s what happens when a bunch of men get together and decide to chart their testosterone levels… sigh.
Personally, I’m waiting for “Brittany and Kevin go Trad”, due to air on Fox in, like, the Fall. Then piping will finally be, like, popular!

I myself have learned to get used to that type of stupidity. I find it makes life easier rather than imagining you can change their behaviour. A bit like the way Jack Gilder should get used to the fact that the world is full of people like IRTradRU.
