OT CA Bay Area Flute Gathering/Session?

I was just thinking about how many flute players I know of in the area, and how many I haven’t met. Organization is a hassle … but, are any of you interested in getting together, meeting, and playing tunes? So many of us are passionate about playing, why not share in the obsession. There must be a bunch of players from Monterey to San Francisco, is there any interest?

Sincerely,
-George

There are at least a few of us. I can’t host, though.

I was getting ready to post (in the Pub) a thread asking this question.

We’ve averaged a couple of C & F Bay Area parties a year for several years running. I hosted one last March here in San Jose, and there have been quite a few summer and fall gatherings at Mrs. Higgins’ (Tony Higgins’ wonderfully patient mom) place in the hills north of Berkeley.

If anyone else is eager to host I’ll defer, but I’d be happy to offer up our place again - I really enjoyed the last one. What’s the interest in a Winter get-together (late January through March, say) - I’d like to avoid the Piper’s Club Tional and the St. Patrick’s Day weekends, but most other weekends should be open. If can work up a set of preferred dates, I’ll nail down my work travel schedule.

Later Edit: These parties have a lot of flutes, but they aren’t flute-exclusive - expect lots of whistles, pipes, and the odd (sometimes very odd  ) string player.

Can I come if I show up with a flute player?
Justine

Justine, you can come with a box player, if you like

I try not to argue with octopus-wrestlers - they’re much more experienced arm-twisters than I am.

But please let the cat take cover before you start playing - I remember how terrified she was last year when the pipes started up. :smiling_imp:
