OT- but a great recording

Hi-- Not whistle, or Celtic, but I thought folks here might be interested. Last week I heard banjo wiz Bela Fleck on NPR talking about his new classical ( yes, classical) recording. I found it on CDNow, and ordered it, and it is astounding. The recording is called Perpetual Motion ( after a Paganini piece on the CD). You can hear sound clips at CDNow, and probably other dealers.
The CD has Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, etc, and they are played EXTERMELY well-- this is not some bluegrass chump bumbling his way through some classics. Highly recommended.

Funny coincidence. Just last night I had dinner with a good friend of mine with a very discrimating ear (actually he has two of them) who was RAVING about the new Bela CD.

He was raving. They had to throw us out of California Pizza Company or whatever it was. The Peking Duck pizza is good and I also recommend the Thai spring rolls. But I digress…

I love Bela Fleck. He’s a truly virtuoso player. His Outbound CD apparently has some whistle on a few tracks, but I can’t say I noticed it.

Must check out his Classical CD.
