I saw this guy on the PBS program about American Roots Music. I found the CD “Keb 'Mo” at the library, and checked it out, and boy is he good! If anybody here likes blues, I’d definitely recommend giving him a listen.

I bought that album for my brother in law a couple of christmases back.He was a real country blues junkie at the time, but is now branching out into jazz(current favourites; Chet Baker,Gerry Mulligan, but I got him Mingus and Monk this year-Co-incidentally,In return he’d bought me a Mingus biography,Que ‘Twilight zone’ music
).I read an interview with Keb a few years back, where he said that he was a studio musician, playing electric guitar. Then one day he heard Robert Johnson, and that was that! Blues really is a ‘Classical music’-when it comes down to it, jazz,Rock and most’modern’ popular western music are derived from it.It’s popularity may wax and wain,BUT it’s ALWAYS there.
