ot: bagpipe music needed for funeral

I’m needing to download some bagpipe music for my friend’s father’s funeral. Things are happening fast and with the service being tomorrow (Saturday). Wav file is prefered. I know I can count on this community to point me in the right direction.

Lynn’s dad was a gentle man, kind and faithful. He had lived long and loved well. He will be missed, but not soon forgotten. If you are given to prayer, one expressed for Lynn’s comfort will be appreciated. Thanks

Tomcat,
Look for the music for an old Irish tune called “Oft In The Stilly Night”. A very poignant and beautiful tune. I think it was in the old Walton’s bagpipe tutor (I gave all my piping books away when I stopped playing). “Going Home” is a perennial favourite retreat march.

Are you looking for recorded music to play at the funeral, or music for someone to actually play on the pipes?

I don’t know where you’d download this in time, but it’d definitely be appropriate.

Please accept my condolences on your loss.

This may be too late, but if you want something other than the ever present Amazing Grace, the tune “Sleep, Dearie, Sleep” was the lament chosen by the Kennedy family for JFK’s funeral.

Unfortunately, I was only able to find it in MP3 and MIDI formats. The MP3 was the better of the two:

If you want it, the best MIDI I found was at:

Another good choice would be “The Day That Thou Gavest, Lord, Now is Ended”. That one (MP3) is at:

Thanks one and all! Great help . . . I have passed all your suggestions to my friend and she was able to use the pieces that meant the most to her. Your thoughts and help have been of comfort.

I’m a wee bit late, but one of my faves has always been Flowers of the Forest.
