Want to hook up a Sony 8mm analog camcorder … and can’t figure out what I need to be able to do that.

I bought what they told me I needed but that isn’t doing it .. Digital viideo creator 150 box. Spent a lot for it and it is not what I need .. or so it seems.

Jim, I have the Pinnacle Studio AV/DV Deluxe Version 9. I also use it with my Sony Hi 8 mm camcorder. I had the store install it because these things never work when I try to do it myself, but I think it worked fine out of the box. Is your pc not recognizing the signal from the camcorder or what?

I reread your post. There are several versions of Pinnacle Studio. Did you by some chance get the one that only works with DV camcorders? Mine works with both DV and analog camcorders. Just curious.

it says it works with both analog and digital .. how do u connect your camera .. that is the same camera Ihave .

Mine came with an external box that the S-video cable and the audio cables from the camcorder plug into.
The external box has it’s own cable that connects to the internal pci Pinnacle card.
On the back of the pci card is another slot for plugging in DV camcorders.
