Is there any way you can make a webpage to refresh itself every 5 or 10 minutes, so you can just leave your computer on C&F and walk by every few minutes and see if there are new messages?
not that i can find, but i think webmasters can write certain types of pages to do that if they wish.
you can do it through code on the site but that only help if you’re the one that made the site, if you want to check for new messages you can just leave your browser on the page and hit F5 any time you want to check.

Open 2 windows one for C&F and the other, go to excite.com . I make it my home page and then I go to my preferences for the page and I set it to refresh every 5 min and it will keep your connection up all day. Unless you get a nasty email from your ISP telling you that they are gonna charge you more for a dedicated line. I got one of those and I stopped doing it. I get my connection for about 12.50 a month so I can’t complain. With 4 people using my computer, we can keep a connection about all day.
Edited to say: You might not have to make it your home page but I am not sure, To set preferances, you might have to. It won’t refresh C&F though, you will have to use the F5 to do that.
