As I progress in life with my whistles and occasional lurches into attempting the flute, I find that I can do pretty well with the basic melody, basic expression, and come pretty close to speed, as long as someone isn’t looking
. And I can do ornaments like cuts and taps. Is there a tradition of playing which uses minimal ornaments? I admire the snot out of people who can do all the ornaments in all the right places, but I am not one of them… So I’ll continue to noodle along with my (somewhat) severely austere style, for a while. ![]()
With best regards.
