Hey Jim, how much was it to have your Sindt head machined to fit standard sized bodies? What kind of place does that sort of thing?

A friend did it free.I gave him a shaft to fit to, and finally settled on a feadog. But the new head covers many shaft flaws and works great with most.

Glad to know I’m not the only one with a Sindt head on a Feadóg shaft… only I modified the shaft to fit the head instead of vice versa.
If only someone would make high quality replacement heads intended to fit standard shafts I’ll bet everybody would want them… I know I would.
Does anyone play one of the O’Riordan heads that fits OAK D bodies? There’s a great whistler that attends sessions here that plays one and she gets a great sound out of it. …not sure if it’s her skill or the whistle head (probably a bit of both).

Partly to thumb my nose at Loren, I’ll confess that I’m the one that snagged the deal. I was eating cereal before leaving for work, browsing the board. I got an adrenalin rush and dashed to email Jim. I went back and saw that there were 35 views at that point and figured I was too late. I had to wait until I got home from work to check my email and was surprised to see that I had won out (by 2 minutes!).
I’ve been on O’Riordan’s list for almost 2.5 yrs. The projection was 1.5 when I called him. I’m a pessimist. He could up and retire at any moment. He may have lost my name. Whatever. If he comes through, I’ll sell these whistles at my cost. So cross your fingers. (I will offer them to people I play music with first. If no interest, they’ll be on this board.) (Don’t hate me.
