I have to plead ignorance about the kind Micho Russel used. This is an anodized aluminum model – traveler. The hole in the fipple was at the request of the original owner who wanted it to fit a kind of neck chain. I bought it from him on Ebay.
The whistle Mr. O’Riordan let me try that had been Micho Russell’s was nothing at all like a Traveller. He also had a couple of whistles that were modern versions of that design, and again, they were nothing like Travellers or any other O’Riordan I have ever seen in the wild.
