What might a fair price be to pay for a copy of Francis O’neill’s “Irish Music and Musicians, a Fascinating Hobby…”, either hardcover or paperback. if I could find a copy?
Does anyone out there have an extra copy they might part with?
Ossian reprinted it a few years ago as far asI know that edition is still available, shouldn’t be extremely dear.
Older editions can fetch a bit more though I once found twenty copies of the 1970s Barry O Neill edited hardcover edition in a secondhand bookshop in Wales that were selling for a fiver, and the had his ‘Fascinating Hobby’ as well at the same price. I stocked up and gave them all away.
Older editions get more expensive though they stil appear. I have seen perfect first editions i nKenny’s bookshop in Galway at [at the time] £80
Amazon has the reprint for $145 - bit pricey, I also saw an original for about UKP80 somewhere last week. I’ll see if I can find the link.
I know someone with an original, but I don’t think he’s willing to part with it.
