Is it me or is that a really strange way to hold a whistle or flute?

Mike

No, that’s exactly how Kenny G plays the whistle!

A little different, but I’ve seen people do it. It’s actually useful in a noisy session: it brings the whistle closer to one of your ears and you can sometimes hear it better (especially if you have one ear with hearing loss like I do)

The little statue man is obviously playing a Ney or a Duduk. The translation goes “flute”.

I believe this statute may be one of the rare renderings of Loren when he was a child. He would often play to the flock when working summers. This came to an abrupt halt when the owner of the sheep noticed that his lamb chops tended to start dancing reels and jigs whenever tunes were played around the dinner table.
