I have always believed that the piping on this LP is some of the best recorded Concert Pitch (D) music that I have heard.
Mick really did himself justice here; his playing was spot on.

And I always loved the big deep sound of those Clarke drones. The bass had a rasp off it like a Honda 50 or James Earl Jones.
Paddy Glackin is in good form too but Mick Gavin sadly passed away 6 or 8 months ago.

Mick told me that his cuts on the record were recorded in his kitchen. He didn’t even realise that it was for an album just one more person recording him. Apparently he was a lot younger when the recording was made than he was in the photo.

Patrick, did he also tell you that he swung his hurley at that small machine that played the music back at him (and had to be restrained)?

Does anyone happen to have this on tape or CD or anything? I tried bidding on it, but the price got fairly high ($41.00 I think).

And this one sold for… .gasp 41 $US !!
