OMG! THE SESSION!!

What I don;t understand is the purpose of such a site - I mean, how many people actually use those loser generic search engines, especially if it’s not what they expected? What’s the angle here?

Oddly, I just tried Peter Noy’s site and got a loser generic search engine.

Can anybody confirm that his site is up and running?

Hmmm… I got the same thing. Much wierdness going on.

Looks like Noy didn’t pay the rent on his domain name to me.

Hello all,
When I talked to Peter via e-mail last week he said his web-site was in serious need of updating.
I am assuming that is what is going on.

Yep, expired Jan. 30. Pending renewal or deletion. It’s a roundabout process that can hold up reactivation for, say, 45 days. If he has a login to his domain registrar than he can get it back in anywhere for a day or 2 to 2 weeks.

Fortunately, his email is not on his domain, so I’ve sent him a message about it.

Oh, are you on a network? What sort of setup are we talking about?
Home? Business? If you have an IT department, they need to flush
your sever’s DNS cache and ARP table and do a spyware/virus sweep
on the server, because it sounds like that sucker’s the one that’s
compromised.

Oh, it does happen. It’s called DNS poisoning. It can happen at any level of domain name resolution. Seems the most likely candidate here.

Wow! That is teh suxx0r!

It’s back!

I think I’ll just chalk that all up to a bad pint and get on with my short life!

Thanks for all the input.
