Olympic Pairs dancing

I am not a big fan of the pairs dancing, nothing personal, but as an ice hockey player it doesn’t appeal to me. However, I was away with the family the other day and when we got back to our hotel room, one of my children put the olympics on the TV and one of them yelled out…“Uilleann Pipes Dad!!” (of course I am proud that I have succesfully trained their ears to recognize the sweet sound). There was a Russian pair (not the point leader though I am afraid) skating to an unfamiliar tune, much like a ballad or air, sounded unfamiliar to me. It had different segments but one clearly had a lengthy uilleann piping lead, after that came a low whitsle. I was wondering if anyone else heard it as well and could identify the piece or the piper? It was on Monday.

Regarding the tune – I think it is subliminal advertising by Budweiser beer (from their horse TV comercial). :stuck_out_tongue:

I have been earning “domestic correctness” points with the wife by sitting and watching this stuff with her. Those points will come in handy when the next tionol rolls around.

I hate to admit it, but I now know the difference between an Axel jump and a Lutz jump. It’s sort of like the difference between a cran and a roll.
