Olympia Summer Celtic Session is on!

I think this does pertain to flute since there were quit a lot of flutes there last year. It was a whole lotta fun and I’m sure it will be this year too. Lots of good music and food, and it’s at a very beautiful place. Jon C was there last year, and people from Seattle and Portland. Hey Jon, can you put in your two cents worth? The website is at at:

Thanks, John G.

Hi John,

This is a awesome festival! I hope to come this year also. Here is a photo of John G. in the foreground and me (white legs, looks like I am from Washington too…) surrounded by flutes… I would say there was about 100 great musicians, all better then me, (easily done!) lots of sessions going on under the trees. The festival is on a 1 acre, grassy park like setting. And also a great Potluck also!
Worth the drive if you are in the Northwest!
Jon

Thanks Jon, good shot of the old gray hair and bald spot! Sounds like you’ll be there, J.

Hi John,
I will be coming up and stay through Labor Day. I practicly need another seat in the plane for all the flutes I am bringing! No liquids on the plane, but hopefully flutes are still allowed…Should be fun happening! I better try to finish your Picillo by then…
Any other chiffers coming?

I’m planning on coming down for the day. It will be my first one. I keep hearing about how much fun it is.

Christopher

Dang, so close and yet so far…I will be in Vancouver (BC, not WA) on the 26th and on Orcas Island all next week!

-Brad

Too bad, your old Bryne Brynt flute will be there… Becky should be bringing it.

I’ll see you there Christopher, just look for a guy with to many flutes around him.

The flute line up!

Here were some of the participants in the Olympia Celtic Festival…
Well eight of them were mine…

did yah see that great photo I just posted of yah? J.

Hmmm, I see one item it the lneup that looks suspicuously like an Abell whistle, not a flute! Well, a fipple flute I guess, J.

Yes, I look like a used car salesman… (Or maybe used flute salesman!)

The Abell can hold it’s own with the flutes, so I guess it can stay!
