Woohoo, my first post on the flute forum! I’m gonna go ahead and order a bamboo flute from SOMEONE, and while Patrick gets the best tuning reviews, I’m wondering if he does the cool finishing jobs that Erik and Zacciah do… I like the burnt look, like “starry night” or Zacciah’s flamed rings finish…I’d imagine it’s not super difficult to do, as I do it myself with a blowtorch to sculptures. I’d be too nervous to do it to one of my instruments, though…
I’ll get in touch with Patrick as soon as I can to ask him personally, but in the meantime…

I’ve just ordered a “performance model” flute in F from him; very nice guy. I’ll put up a review when I get the thing, but I’ve heard very good things about his instruments so far.
I’d sure like to try an Olwell sometime, too. . .

http://www.cloudhandsmusic.com Mine is in C and is quite large but with offset finger holes so the stretch is not to bad. Rosewood lip plate and rapped with twine in all the right places. The finish is to die for. And the sound of mine when I get it right is unbeatable. You might want to check it out. Just a thought.
