Olwell 6-key cocus flute in D for Sale

…nur wenn mann zuerst ein Ricola gelutscht hat!

Das haben doch die Finnen erfunden! Oder war das andersrum…

You can get almost two 8-keyed Grinters for that much.

Or Wilkes’s - but then, there is the waaaaaaiiiiiiiiit :astonished:

Or Morvan’s??? Less wait, I think.

…or 20,000 boxes of cheese’n’mac - but you still wouldn’t have an Olwell! Grinters are lovely, but I never took to them myself. Apparently, I’m not the only one willing to either wait or pony up for Patrick’s flute.

I pony-ed up a couple of years ago (not quite to the tune of $7500) and I surely have enjoyed my daily fix of Olwell ever since. Every day when I put the flute together and get it warmed up to speed, I think about not having to wait five years for the rush.

No, I had to buy a car. It cost me about two Olwells. And guess what? IT’S STILL NOT AN OLWELL!

It’s an opportunity if you have the cash and want a 6-key cocus flute yesterday. A nice instrument to play and an investment too. Solid seller, based in Clare, no problems with custom duties here in Europe.

Ok, if one does buy this pricey Olwell flute, then what? I’ll tell you what: you wouldn’t have 6000 EUR!

Will cocus still be available in years to come? When I got my keyless Olwell a few years ago Mr. Olwell told me that cocus was getting very hard to find (2003). And he lets the wood season for several years. I bet after waiting six to eight years a flute like that would cost almost as much anyways. My name is on the list but even then it’s going to cost a lot more. But I don’t mind the wait if I get it in the end and save some money.
If it was my flute I’d put it on Ebay. I bet it would quickly go past €6,000. I’ve only heard of one used 6-key cocus Olwell ever sold on the used market. It sold for pretty close to what this one is going for. If my hours at the hospital hadn’t been cut back I’d seriously consider working out the finances. It’s like buying a Stradivari from old Antonio himself. We’ll probably never see another one like this on the market.

True, very nicely put.

“Ok, if one does buy this pricey Olwell flute, then what? I’ll tell you what: you wouldn’t have 6000 EUR!” Thallata.

You’d have a very good instrument to play on and in the meantime the value of the flute will just increase. People pay more than 6000 euros for a decent second hand car which may only be worth 1000 euros, if that, ten years from now. In July you could have purchased this flute for 5200 euros. Go for it

The flute has been spoken for. Thanks to all
