Anyone here play so long your upper lip felt rubbery?
Mine used to do that when I had a couple fingers of Tullemore Dew (Irish Whisky) followed by a draught Stout.
But not yet with a whistle. I guess I need more practice. …with the whistle.

Cran asked about the Oak whistle because a couple of years ago the plastic they were using for the mouthpieces was making people’s lips tingle and or numb. Quite a few people reported the problem and if I recall correctly Oak even acknowledged it and sent out replacement whistles.
Well, of course. I forget that some people aren’t aware of those things that happened a while ago. 
I always wanted one of the poison oaks, but nobody could or would ever send me one. All the ones I’ve ever bought have been newer and not lip-numbing. 
Been there, done that, got the T shirt.

That 250cc tumbler holds approximately a half pint, just to make it more visual. It’s my nose that goes numb more than my lips. dfernandez77, that’s some liver you got there. Geez, now you got me thinking about that Bushmill’s I have sitting by my whistles… And it’s a Friday night, too. Signing off now…

2 fingers in a 250cc tumbler will get you about 3 oz (US). It’s an all night sipper.
Interesting to learn about the Oak odd plastic.
Extended periods of whistle playing has caused some numbness between my cheeks!

Ah yes, the infamous poison oaks. If you sit here reading long enough, all of the collected wisdom from previous C&F posts will be paraded past you again. And that’s a good thing, often.

It twasn’t an Oak, and combination of Silkstone, Burke, Chieftain and Water Weasel NT . . . I think I may have accidentally jammed my upper lip, whilst playing and didn’t notice until I felt I was losing power in my lip function
