maybe some of you might be interested in owning and playing another type of bagpipe, so here is your opportunity to get one…
I have a flemish bagpipe by Markus Gäbel (magaeb in the forums) for sale. It is beautifully crafted in european plumwood and boxwood for mounts. Cane chanter reed, artificial drone reeds. Three drones, tuned to G-d-g, can be turned to A-e-a with tuning slides. Each drone has an own switch to shut it down.
Tuned to G/C at A=440, tone range (f1)g1-c3, that means 1.5 octaves, with overblowing. 9 fingering holes, that means, an additional second thumb hole for UP’s Fnat equivalent to be able to play in Gmaj and Gmin at the same time without any retuning. Mostly chromatical through crossfingering, so you can play in Gmaj, Gmin (as written), Amaj, Amin, Fmaj, Bmin (tricky!), Cmaj, Dmin and other weird keys.
The pipe is mouth-blown but can be made bellows-blown on request (bellows not included!), the drone’s playing position can be changed, too (lying on knee like UPs, flemish style).
I have to sell that beautiful piece since I moved to a flat and can’t play it here without bugging my neighbours, and instruments don’t get better from lying around. Additionally, I need some money to finance my new flat set.
