Offf Topiccc... God Bless "The others"?????

Way of the topic of whistles, but speculating there must be at least a few “Dead-Heads” on this board…
Just heard on a Philly radio station this morning that most of the surviving members of The Grateful Dead are touring and will be in Philly later this month, billing themselves as “The Others”.
God bless Jerry Garcia!!!

There’s a group called Wake the Dead who are performing Grateful Dead songs and Irish tunes. A little hard to imagine but there you go. The group contains Paul Kotapish who played with Kevin Burke’s Open House and Danny Carnahan.

I love it! Been a Deadhead for years, and though I miss Jerry sorely, the entire band is extremely talented, and I’d hate to see them fold.

“Would you hear my voice come through the music? Would you hold it near, as it were your own?”

A real musician’s song, that one

I thought this was going to be another thread about recorder players.

Ok, Madguy. When The Others come to the CAA, look for me under a yellow balloon.

What would the Dead sound like without Jerry? I honestly can’t imagine.

I’m not a deadhead, but “the others” had their first concert earlier this year about 20 miles up the road from where I live, at Alpine Valley in East Troy, WI. The county wasn’t going to allow the concert to take place, fearing hundreds of thousands of deadheads converging on our rural community. When the concert promoter threatened legal action, they allowed the concert to happen. It was a great success from what I have heard, and no more arrests than usual for a concert at Alpine, and lots of peace and love all around.
