Off To Idaho, a "contest", an actual prize? YES!!!

Per a recent post of mine

we have sold our home and will be heading down the road to Idaho on December 11th.

Even though it will mean resetting the ol’ post counter, I think it will make sense to change my handle to something a little closer to what will represent my new location.

A request:

So, now I am requesting ideas for a new handle. Here is a little bit about the area to maybe stir the creative juices.

We will be living in Buhl (pronounced BULE as in MULE), Idaho. Specifially in Kanaka Rapids Ranch, a small rural commuity that is North of Buhl and borders Mud Creek and the Snake River. This area is located in South central Idaho in Twin Falls county. As many of you know Idaho is famous for their potatos and there are an awful lot of sugar beets grown there too. The name of our street will be Hidden Canyon Lane. Oh, one other thing I just remembered is that Idaho is the Trout Farm capital of the world too.

True. There’s no shortage of potato references in Irish music. There’s even a duo in North Carolina called the “Pratie Heads” (http://www.duke.edu/~jpeppler/pratie.html).

psssst…keep Weiser in mind, 3rd full week of every June. Lots of “little Ireland” musicians camping out at the National Fiddle Championship. Some really great Irish musicians and music.

When I lived in Buhl 30 years ago, there was a Green Giant corn packing plant there. There was a great dairy on the main street which sold the best buttermilk I ever had. I also got my first whistle given to me when I lived there.
