Some strange things happened inside my computer, while I have restored the system files that had gone astray there are still some issues I cannot resolve myself so I am checking in irrregualrly at the local library.
Those of you who send me e-mails asking how the weather is and should you bring a raincoat to the Willie week [by al means do and you may as well get the wellies and all other necessary protection], do they really drive on the left in Ireland and stuff like that, you may have to wait for a reply a bit longer.
Meanwhile I finallt have time to weed the garden and practice tunes for my Willie week lunchtime rectial.
I have a fair idea, yes. My problem usually is that I blank out on tunes I could play. A few weeks ago Gay mcKeown phoned to ask if I could do a 40 minute lunchtime piping thing I wrote down names of tunes that would possibly suit and I am now trying to arrange them in more or less coherent sets.
All Willie recitals and appearances on the piping concert in the past were on very short notice, one day at most and five minutes the shortest. It’s nice t ocome prepared although I am not convinced that by hte end of the day it will make loads of difference.
Mullinavat is in for the moment. The Butcher’s of Bristol among the hornpipes, overall very few from the standard piping repertoire but anything may happen yet, by the time Willie arrives I am probably bored with them.
I have done a few of them, first one in 1986 and this is the first one I can prepare for [not sure that will help though]. As long as the pipes keepgoing I’ ll be OK, hopefully. Was playing with Kitty Hayes most of the afternoon, looks like I’ll ‘help’ her om the concertina recital as well. May bring her out for a tune at lunchtime if the powers that be agree with a non piping element.
Must get this problem solved, am spending loads of time in the library trying to clear two days worth of spam.
