I was hoping someone could help me identify a particular performance that I heard on the radio. The tune was O’Carolan’s Farewell, played by a female fiddle player, but I can’t remember what they said the name was. Last name might have been Kelly, but I could be mistaken. It’s a pretty recent recording I think. So, anyone know of any female fiddlers who have recorded this tune? Thanks for your help.

Sorry, J, can’t help you with that. But I would take the opportunity to mention Jerry O’Sullivan’s version on C whistle that gives me shivers. (In case you’re not familiar with it.) If you do find out the name of the woman fiddler, please post it (or where we might hear it).

I can’t help either, but will chime in with another related request. I heard a full-orchestra version on Thistle and Shamrock about 5 or 6 years ago. I didn’t catch the name of the orchestra or arranger, but would love to get hold of it. Anyone know who it was?
