O'Briain Improved Eb

I received it today. It consists of a tweaked green Feadóg head on an Eb brass Generation tube. Tone and responsiveness are almost identical to that of the O’Briain Improved D.

I’ll post a clip when I get used to the hole spacing. (This is my first Eb.)

Does O´briain retune the gen body or is it stock?I`d love to see a picture of it if possible.Thanks. Mike

Thanks, thats a fine looking whistle and re-tuning of B A and F# holes has been done.I bet your happy with it!:)Is it coated or polished brass? Mike

I’m very happy with it! It seems to have a clear lacquer coating.

Argh!

You do need one, you know. If you don’t want to deal with Steve, I’ll get one and mail it to you.

Hehe, actually, believe me or not, I ordered one from… Burke! Yeah, going to get a Burke Brass Eb. Well, I’m sure it won’t be as good for me as the tweaked one, but he had one in stock so…

As for the tweaked one, well, I’ll make sure next time I’m in Ireland I replenish in O’Briain.

I hope you’re gonna have a good time with your Eb.

Wow, my fingers feel really fat and clumsy with this Eb, and I’m new at whistle playing anyhow (less than 4 months), but here’s a crude rendering of part A of Saddle](http://pw2.netcom.com/~rlsaylor/pony.mp3%22%3ESaddle) the Pony. Don’t look for stylistic elegance.

Yeah,

This is the sound I’m looking for. Argh again!

Wow! My O’Briain improved d (with a Gen head and Feadog body) doesn’t sound nearly as pure (and buzz-free) as that!

The brass tubing as used by Generation seems a higher grade than Feadog which I`ve also noticed has a tendency to buzz.I wonder if tuned gen bodys are offered in D ?Now this would be good. Mike

mike.r, I have both nickel and brass D Feadógs. The nickel is 2 grams heavier, much less buzzy, and has a more pleasant tone overall.
