O.T. - Comic Genius, Peter COOK tribute on T.V. tonight

BBC2 is screening two programmes tonight, from 9pm-10.30pm(GMT)about a Great comedy hero of mine-Peter Cook.I think he was a comic genius(but as usual, there was a touch of sadness to his life-Peter said that he’d achieved all his ambitions by the time he was 28,so there was really nothing left for him to do,apart from repeat himself.Unsurprisingly, personal and working relationships-as with his partnership with Dudley Moore, were affected) and he ended up an alchoholic, dead at a too early age.BUT.. when he was on form, and he usually was,his humour was wildly and surrealistically improvisational.I am sure that a great many comic performers and writers owe a debt to Peter. He did not play whistle,as far as I know.
