I am planning my trip to Dublin for this event. What is the closes but not hell very expensive hotel/motel/whatever to stay near Henrietta Street?
I’d like to visit a reedmaking class. What tools shall I take with me? Or, can I buy everything I need for reedmaking there?

Not sure you want to stay “near Henrietta Street” 
Dublin city centre is pretty expensive. You might consider a B&B on the DART or suburban rail line. Though that might limit your late evenings, taxis are available and the likelihood of getting a lift is good.
