I am trying to decide if a membership in NPU would be worth it for me. Can anyone here comment
on the benefits of membership? I think it’s about $100 per year now. Basically, what do you receive/
have access to for the fee? Any responses greatly appreciated.
By becoming a member you support the work they do. Incentive enough I think.
Once you’re a member they teach you the secret handshake.
I joined to support all the good things they do (including now offering so much for free through The Source), but I’ve also gotten a lot out of my membership. Their An Piobaire quarterly has been really informative, and the annual “pipe pinup” calendar is brilliant 
Oh, and being able to accept Gay McKeon’s help setting up my drones without feeling like an undeserving schmuck was kinda nice, too.

Well. I had no idea… that’s it I’m joining today.
But now I am concerned about you… are you certain it was OK for you to disclose the fact that
there is a secret handshake?!? I’ve heard stories of pipers being hung by their thumbs for revealing
this type of information.
Not to give anything away, but the secret handshake is not the “deathgrip.” 
NPU has helped fund Tionols outside Ireland which helps make them possible. Having access to their knowledge and historical records, not to mention the video lessons, and discount’s on videos & CDs, and all else mentioned above, makes membership more than worth it.
Ye will enter into piping Nirvána which is the perfect peace of the state of mind that is free from craving, anger, and other afflicting states (kilesas). It is also the “end of the world;” there is no identity left and no boundaries for the mind. The subject is at peace with the world, has compassion for all, and gives up obsessions and fixations. In nirvāṇa, the root causes of craving and aversion have been extinguished, so that one is no longer subject to human suffering (Pali: dukkha) or further rebirth in samsāra.
In addition ye will get priority at customs,use of the VIP Lounge and automatic upgrades on flights of fancy.
Ye can also jump the queue at confession on Saturday night…

The Source website alone makes the NPU membership worth at least twice what you pay. Nobody with a decent internet connection can ever claim to be an isolated piper again!
