NOW I'M REALLY CONFUSED

Stories in the news that make life confusing:
The Swiss engineered Stonehenge, bisexual Viking idols, the first Americans where Aussies?

I am truelly confused

1)Britain’s Stonehenge king may be Swiss

“The construction of Britain’s ancient landmark, the towering megaliths at Stonehenge in southern England, may have been supervised by the Swiss, or maybe even the Germans, archaeologists have announced.”

Full short story here:

  1. Bisexual Viking…

Bisexual Viking idol marks ancient circle

"An ancient wooden carving of the bisexual Viking god Odin has been linked to a prehistoric timber circle monument excavated in Britain, according to U.K. archaeologists.

The idol was built at the same time as a circle of wood monuments constructed thousands of years ago on Holme beach in Norfolk, England. Archaeologists suggest that the monument, called ‘Seahenge’, and another, even older, structure may have included other totem pole-like carvings."

And finally: “This Foster’s is for you!”???

First Americans may have been Aussies

“Inhabitants of what is now Australia travelled by canoe to settle in the Americans more than 30,000 years ago, say anthropologists in light of new research.”

It gets worse

Thanks for the links Mark, very interesting.

I watch a lot of Archeology programmes (Time Team and Meet the Ancestors are great favourites), but they don’t always give all the follow up. I remember this Archer being excavated, I believe there was a second skeleton nearby that they think may have been his son (via carbondating, grave goods, & similar skeletal features). It would be interesting to know what his tooth enamel shows about his place of birth and growth.

You mean there were Aussies in America before Olivia, … errr … I mean Errol Flynn? :astonished:

Pat Sullivan, executive producer of the original Felix the Cat cartoons and other animated cartoons, in the 1910’s and 20’s, was an Australian, wasn’t he?

First Americans may have been Aussies

“Inhabitants of what is now Australia travelled by canoe to settle in the Americans more than 30,000 years ago, say anthropologists in light of new research.”

Hey, does Mel Gibson know about this??? sounds like material for another epic Gibson screenplay…'cept I’m still waiting for a film on Brian Boru…
