For the record, the avatar is me in the eighties. Country boys in Colorado had a certain “look”. I didn’t try for the look, it came natural! I am a Rocky Mountain native. I don’t know about the guy you mentioned.
Nah. Old Henry John Deutschendorf was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He only got Hi on the Rockies, much later.

It’s not either really.
It’s an early blacktop experiment that I had stowed on a shelf. On a whim I put it on the apricot and it worked. It’s made from ABS pipe and the plug is gray Corian which has black specks in it. There are some discolorations in the plastic that I figured would disqualify it as a true Blacktop. Somehow they don’t seem so bad on that whistle.
On second thought: I think the Corian may be black with gray and white specks.

Speaking of avatars…
Surprisingly, you are the first to ask. That’s an African Pygmy Hedgehog. My daughter is allergic to cats and dogs, so we ended up with one of these as a pet. Interesting little creatures, but, unfortunately, they tend to live short lives.
When I first signed up on C&F, I just grabbed the first image I had that was the right size. As you can see, this hedgy is a little miffed. All spines except for the nose and eyes.
I really should come up with a new avatar that matches Swizzlestick. Maybe a Guinness with a Whitecap whistle sticking out. Mack, would you mind that kind of image?

Not at all, but I’ll say ahead that you have to tape over the holes or you won’t get much through.
I thought it was a child inside a hedgehog hide. The face is most human.
I think we are in danger of straying off topic – but when did that ever stop us on this forum?
Hedgehogs have what I consider to be very human like feet. The nails look like miniature toenails. But the faces are what most kids love. They look like cartoon animals – you know, the combination of human and animal faces we used to see in Disney movies.
