I hesitate to post this recommendation, as many will find this music, um, full of extra sounds. It is not strictly traditional and it isn’t raw. But it’s simply beautiful. It’s romantic and sad and though it may be a bit overproduced in terms of reverb, all the instruments (featuring a very old flute in almost all songs and tunes) are acoustic and the mood of the music, performed extremely well, is full of longing and I really enjoy it. So, here it is.

I’ll second that recommendation. Susan was also my first whistle teacher, great musician and also a really nice person. This cd was made before her new Grinter keyless, but she plays that and a an awesome Thin Weasel on the new cd.
I’m a bit down on buying from mega-corporations such as Amazon right now 
. So I did a search and came up with another link, http://www.craigrecords.com/ Unlike the Amazon link, this one has some sound clips to listen to; same price too. I’m not familiar with this company, though, but maybe others more informed than I will post some similar alternate sources. The buying link does seem to have a lot of lesser known artists in its catalog, though. I do know of the celticgrooves.com site, but didn’t see this CD on it.
