I plan to visit the Asheville, NC area in a few weeks, and my wife and I would like to see some local craftspeople (potters, weavers etc.) in action. I would especially like to visit the shops of any local whistle makers. Are there any whistlesmiths in the area who allow visitors to their workshops? If so, could anyone provide directions?

If you are going to Asheville, and have not done so, DO visit the Biltmore. I finally went last Sat. at my Mom’s insistance, didn’t really want to( her birthday gift to me) and it is unbelievable to see how these folks lived, the architecturethe art collection, … indescribable! In fact, anyone who can get the chance should go.
