Non-duet songs as duets

I was playing around the other day with one of those websites that has the ABC file of a song, and a MP3 file of the sond so you can play along, and see how “good” musicians play it. I was playing along to one of the songs (I forget which one now) and forgot to play the repeat, so the second time around I was playing the second section, while listening to the first, and it sounded really cool. I realize that this will only work for certain songs, and mostly for the simpler ones, but i was wondering is anyone else has tried this, and what songs they think works particularly well for it.

This reminds me of a band that as a little light relief and a bit of fun in there set would see how many songs could be sung simultaneously over a 1 6 4 5 progression or typically C Am F G.It was hillarious hearing Blue Moon, Tan-shoes and pink shoe laces, Stay and others I cant recall comming at the audience at once and it actually sounded very good!I,m not sure I,d wanna risk deliberately playing A over everyone elses B in a session though.
