No Westcoast Whistle Gathering?

Well, we would have known if we were invited. Sniff.

Sorry about that! John has a really big family or we would have been able to invite more poeple. I’ll invite you to the next one, though, K?

J.

Maybe you could change the reception to Tony’s house?

(Best Wishes, by the way… )

Judy

So, am I the one that’s to make the decision, then? I’m pretty bad at that. I absolutely hate to leave anyone out, but it looks like that’s gonna happen (as usual). I’m basically open to any weekend- can’t afford to go anywhere. How about a consensus?? My only worry is the weather getting cold if we wait too long.
Tony

ROFL!!! :boggle:  :boggle:

missing you all…

Ah, it will be warm thru the first week of November, but dark early after daylight savings time… Sept 15?

I could do that one.

Redwolf

Alas, that’s about the only one I can’t. But I think this always holds true - in a large group of people, any weekend you pick will conflict with somebody.

So about the best a host can do is find the weekends that have the fewest conflicts, then put 'em up on the wall and throw darts to choose

Being selfish, I hope you’ll pick a weekend I can make - but if you wait for a weekend that has absolutely NO conflicts it may not happen until the 32nd of Never. :smiling_imp:

At this rate, it may be a chorus of “Lets’ call the whole thing off.” How did it happen that we ever met? We’re so damn important these days…

Actually, September, especially if you have kids, is a very busy month. We missed the dawg days of summer.

September’s just crazy for us…there’s the “kid” thing, of course, but also this family thing at the beginning of the month, and my Irish immersion weekend at the end (not to mention the Irish Christmas chorus every Sunday). Our church is also working on calling a new rector, and both Tony and I are in the hiring loop (and guess when most of the interviews are likely to take place?). So much as I hope I can make it, don’t even try to work around my crazy schedule!

Or there’s October, which is often a lovely month weather-wise…

Redwolf

October’s good for me. (Except the weekend of the SoCal tionol, the 15th I believe.)

J.

greetings all. it’s been awhile since I’ve posted on cf, but thought I’d chime in about the elusive left coast gathering. september is a busy month for me, but most weekends in october look good so far. would be good to see some of you all again and share some music together, as long as Tony will have us at his new house. we’ll see how the plans come together and maybe I’ll see you all in the next month or so.

cheers
stiofan

Gimme a freakin’ calendar. There. Oct 7. Before anyone says anything. It’s on.

Whoah, wait a minute. I have to trim the dog’s nails that day. Never mind, that’s Oct 8, so we’re okay.

If anyone else is getting married, do it now. If you’re starting college, wait till spring. Armageddon? It’ll keep.

Oct 7

No further questions. We’ll discuss menu later. That wasn’t so hard.
Tony

Excellent! Count me in.

Redwolf

I think this is the third one of these I’ve been through. Each year the suspense is nearly unbearable as dates are proposed and nixed. I always know it’ll work out, but I just wonder how. And then there is a wedding and Irish immersion this year on top of it all! Hey, have fun you guys  ! October 7th it is, yay!!!

“My Husband’s Got No Courage In Him” might be a better choice.

Oh, you know him, do you? :smiling_imp:

I’ll be there on the 7th.

J.

Oct 7?

Barring last-minute business trips (I’m going where???) I’ll be there, along with Alina (AKA Daughter #2).

That will make Johanna very happy. When I mentioned the gathering this evening, she immediately asked “Is Alina coming?”

Redwolf

As long as I can get my chair.

At whose house will this be?
