I’d love to have a go at the flute, but I’m a bit concerned about my lack of bottom lip - I have no protruding bit at all! Is this going to be a problem?
Probably not, if you’re going at trad flute. Remember that one blows more into the embouchure hole, and with a feeling of directing the airstream to one’s chin. Boehm flutes (the modern metal keyed beast) is a different animal. I don’t play it, so someone else will have to advise you there.
As for lips, let’s just say that I’ve been called “Tippy”. As in the turtle. I don’t have any real problems playing because of it. 
Go for it. And if you have a lot of trouble
for awhile, so does everybody else.
