The Fairy Reel, played in D, is a nice tune for practicing what Seamus Ennis called “nipping”: triplets in the high octave, like FGA and FGF. I like this tune because you can fit in lots of them leading from a high G, a technique Seamus was a master of - listen to him play the Salamanca, slow it down some. Another tune you can pack full of these is the Scholar. Jackson’s Morning Brush has plenty of these in the 4th and 1st parts. And so on.
don’t forget that old warhorse the Derry Hornpipe. Great tune.
