Practicing whistle scales, technique, breath control and misc for 3 solid hours EVERY WEEKEND while watching the Washington Redskins over the past 3 years has been the most painless, yet intense practice I ever had!
I enter the season prepping for next years St Patty’s day.
Hmmm… sounds like a great idea, but I don’t think my hubby dearest will allow me to practice while watching the games… he has this silly idea that he needs to hear some of the commentary instead of every tune I know (and a few I don’t) gettin repeated repeatedly.
I watched the Super Bowl in Oxford a year or so ago, it was awfully late and the announcers were…er…helpful for those not accustomed to American football.
Technically speaking, the season opened last Thursday when the NE Patriots beat the Raiders in their first step towards their 4th Super Bowl title in 5 years. Go Pats (and Sox, too!)
Whistling and watching the Pats is always fun. That said, when we get to the play-offs I’ll want to listen to the commentary. New Englanders usually listen to the nationally broadcast games to hear how the rest of the country disrepects the team. I’d rather whistle. I’ll worry about disrespect in the unlikely event we actually lose a Superbowl.

Since I lived in Newport Rhode Island for 7 1/2 years The Patriots are my alternate team. However when they play the Redskins I will be cheering for the skins. I don’t want to say how many years I have been a fan but Sammy Baugh was a great quarterback.
