Did you engage in research projects with definable outcomes? Nope. Still don’t understand most of what is going on around me. Doesn’t stop me writing songs about it, though.

Because the last two times that quarterly reports were due, a few lurkers came out of the woodwork, identified themselves as such, and submitted their reports on time.
What were your objectives for FY12? Describe how you met those objectives? Develop more speed and cleaner ornamentations. Practiced tunes with wide interval spacings and played standard tunes at different speeds and cadences or rhythms. It worked.
What are your new objectives for FY13. Learn more tunes. Increase proficiency on alto and low whistles. Begin learning flute.
Describe special projects and outcomes that were not objectives for FY12. Discern whether I preferred a particular material since I seem to play brass mostly. Decided emphatically it was the maker, not the material.

Describe your Community Outreach activities during FY12. Met two San Francisco C&F’ers. Swapped instruments and played a little with one on a few occasions. Played a simple low-whistle back up for a coworker on her new-agey tune to be released soon on CD Baby.
What assets did you secure or destroy during FY12? Destroyed none. Secured a Goldie Low D and Low F, MK Low D, Busman birds-eye D+, Copeland A, Copeland alto G, Copeland high D Brass, and a Schultz Blackwood D.
What asset requistions did you expect for FY13? Why? The Copeland and Schultz high D’s. Because I’ve sought them for 3 years and they make me happy.
Did you commit any crimes against humanity or other living creatures by whistling? My wife insists that I not play Copeland or Busman high D’s in the house as the dog hates me. The cat still loves me and will sit in my lap while I practice. That’s why he’s my favorite pet. The dog will undoubtedly press charges.
Better stage presence. I’ve started doing bits between
songs, trying for a laugh, pushing the CD and whatnot.
Suck less (and therefore, practice more).
I made a Hank Drum from a propane tank. It’s pretty
sweet. My 2-year-old daughter likes to bang on it with
mallots and sing.

A few people said they liked my whistling. All right, a
couple of people. Fine it was one guy. He seemed
happy, though. We did play for some soldiers at a pub
near Ft. Bragg and they were surprisingly literate in
Irish folk music. They were also so drunk they needed
holding up, so I guess we supported the troops for a
little while.
I lost the head of a Jerry Freeman Generation A in a
tragic accident involving my car door.

What were your objectives for FY12? Describe how you met those objectives? I meant to come up with a play list that I could remember at the spur of the moment that was generically useful. I did not meet that goal but I did add “Mercedes-Benz” on a flute in an anti-Janis Joplin style to my spur of the moment list. Before playing the song, I say, “This song is a prayer.”
What are your new objectives for FY13. I gotta learn some classic hard rock and play it that way. Maybe I’ll learn the real Immigrant song.
Describe special projects and outcomes that were not objectives for FY12. I had all kinds of dear old friends call me up this year. They got diagnosed with cancer and were making their funeral plans. They wanted good music. Some of them passed, some are still with us.
Did you engage in research projects with definable outcomes? I like interviewing people in the hotel pool areas when I play whistles, flutes, and ocarinas. The acoustics are awesome. Their stories are awesome. No one ever asks to play.
Describe your Community Outreach activities during FY12. My wife had a job for a few months that required me to wait for an hour or so on a downtown street, so I’d play a flute or whistle, while all kinds of people, especially day care kids, would pass by. Day care kids will stare and talk to you.
What assets did you secure or destroy during FY12? I destroyed the ligaments in my knee, had surgery, and got a walking cane bamboo flute as my reward for surviving surgery. Everyone is jealous.
What asset requistions did you expect for FY13? Why? I hope to not buy a thing this year.
Did you commit any crimes against humanity or other living creatures by whistling? One of my friends has a service dog in training. This dog looks most unemployed. When I played my cane flute in front of the dog, she perked up and came over to see me, totally forgetting her Master. Now my friend has to train the dog for this variable.

What are your new objectives for FY13. To not buy any instruments that I am not already learning how to play. (Doubt it will happen, but a girl can dream. )
Describe special projects and outcomes that were not objectives for FY12. -Learn standard notation. I am better than when I started, but still getting tripped up.
-Play a song from memory on the penny whistle. I have played London Bridge too many times to count.
-Play a song on the fife. I can play London Bridge… sounding good will take at least till the end of the calender year.
-Make some progress with my harmonica playing. Adding this two days later because I forgot that I (sort of) play harmonica, not much progress there.
-Get a keyboard, find mid C and play a song. Eh, all notes and mid C are labeled and I did say “the dots” still trip me, but better then nothing.
Did you engage in research projects with definable outcomes? After reading a book where the main character plays the penny whistle find out what a “Penny whistle” is and obtain one. I obtained the whistle and don’t think that I butchered any music too badly.

What assets did you secure or destroy during FY12? Gained a Clarke D penny whistle, fife, keyboard, Honer Bluesband Harmonica and a capo for my guitar.
