Dear Non-Uilleann (and Uilleann) PIPERS,
I want to point you to some recent You Tube videos of
a friend of mine, Maksim Mudrinic, of the town of SIVAC
(“See-vats”… and it means “Grey Horse”).
Sivac is near Sombor in the “Dukedom” (or state)
of Northern Serbia, known as the Voivodina
(a Voivode translates to English, as a “Duke”).
Maksimir Plays the “Veliki Gajde” or “BIG PIPES”.
These come in different sizes, the smaller versions,
are mostly Mouth-blown, and the Largest sizes are
Bellows-blown. In the first video I list,
Maksim is SINGING and PLAYING this amazing
LOW PITCH set of Pipes, at the same time.
He is accompanied by the Novi Sad
(“New Orchard”) Radio Orchestra.
