New to the community

Hello, everyone. I am Whistlearcher and I am new to this community. The reason behind my user name is that I am a whistler and an archer at the same time. In between playing my Clarkes and Feadogs, I also shoot the traditional longbow. I hope I will be a good contributor to our forum. I also wish to learn more about the traditional music we all love, and no one, I think, is ever expert enough to stop learning. Take care, everyone, until next time.

Welcome to the party!!

So which end of the whisltle you you knock to shoot it with your bow? Fipple or Bell?

Hi from another longbowman!

Thanks for the welcome, folks. Actually, I find archery and whistling complementary. Archery, like all shooting sports, requires discipline and technique with breathing. Whistling requires no less. I have a Clarke Black D that requires good breath technique, and my experience as an archer helps. An added plus is that after a good day’s shooting at the field range, a few traditional tunes on the whistle rounds up the day very well.

there’s a couple o’ other whistlin’ archers that’ll show up eventually.

I think that most of 'em have come to using arrows 'cause of the cost. YMMV
