Like it says, Dave sent me one of his new-style D whistles a few days ago, and it is very, very nice. The mouthpiece design is totally different from the old. Gone is the pounded-into-shape, blade. New is the carefully shaped, probably-done-it-with-a-Dremmel, blade, with a smart looking red fipple plug, which goes well with the copper color. The sound is very pure, and all the notes respond very well. One aspect I have noticed about copper, this being my second, is that the finger vibrato really seems to immitate the vibrato of a ullean (sp) pipe.
Way to go, Dave!
Thank you very much,
John Palmer

John,
Send a sound clip this way, would ya? I’ve always bragged I didn’t have whoa. Just have the whistles I “need.” (Have 2 on order- need them.) Now you are inciting covetous thoughts in me.
Tony
I will, Tony, as soon as I get a recording program onto our new computer. I could always send you a tape, since I now have access to a 4 track recorder.
John
Please note that the whistle John just received is my “quiet” model in D. Thanks for the positive feedback, J.
Dave
Dave,
You call it quiet, but it can take a good amount of air, if extra volume is needed.

Hey Davey, my boy…glad to see your back among us. Glad to see you’re still plugging away. Would love to hear from you sometime! Gm
Dave-- could you post a pic of that new mouthpiece? The red plug sounds like the stuff Glenn Shultz uses on some of his Water Weasels. What is it? Paul
You got it in one… it’s the same plastic that Glenn uses in Water Weasels. Great stuff, and if it’s good enough for Glenn it’s mighty fine for me!
