When I ordered my practice set (knowing nothing about the uilleann pipes and very little now) I ordered a fully keyed chanter (4 keys) just in case I ever learned to play I wouldn’t have to order another chanter. (I actually ordered a 1/2 set, doesn’t look like I’ll ever get it. A practice set was sent, paid $900.00 dn. for drones and never heard from maker again. Phone number gone, web site gone etc.) Anyway, my chanter has 2 keys on the left side with the finger pads faceing each other (about 1/2 way up chanter) one key on right side about 1/3 way up chanter) and one key in back (about 2/3 waw from top. (bottom of chanter being bottom “D”) Are these 4 keys (and locations)pretty much standard? What is the note of each key? You would expect the maker to have made a piece of junk since he dissappeared, but the chanter looks good ands sounds O.K. (stays in tune) and I use the keys to help grip the chanter. I had the chanter reeded and was told the keys were glued on, I looked real close and I couldn’t tell. Are glued on keys good or bad? They sound O.K. and when I find out what key they are in, I might use them. (in the one tune I play) Thanks
