Seems to be a new pipemaker on the block - anyone verify his credentials

G. Pyre who from the description is in Ireland as pipes are Irish made, no hallmarks, pitched in the key of “D”.

The seller adds this bit of information

The maker is known to us but has no presence on the internet. :confused:

Would this be a certain Geoffrey ‘Abdul’ Pyre of Siakot a small, little known suberb of Dublin :stuck_out_tongue:

Cannot Ebay be sued for allowing misleading and false sales - they must be causing a lot of damage to prospective uilleann pipers

How do you get in touch with the idiots that run ebay to get these things removed. There only seem to be ‘standard messages’ in the automated system

And who is this ‘scotbagpipes’ - clearly as false as his claims on where the pipes were made

Stani Pipes, they are trying really hard to sell.

Trying to get in touch with any department at eBay, is like getting blood from a stone, they are mythical creatures who don’t like to be seen.

eBay can’t do anything if you don’t report it.

Don’t mean to be rude PJ but if you took the trouble to read the whole posting and that of Dale’s before replying you would have realised that the problem is telling Ebay that something is wrong

I did read the entire post and Dale’s too. Nowhere did you say that you reported this seller. Did you report them?

eBay does pull auctions if enough people report problems. People on this forum have had their auctions stopped as a result of being reported by other people on this forum.

If you really want to give out about pipes of dubious quality being sold on eBay, have a look at this auction

Read the description, check out the little cartoon figures, listen to the sound sample, BUT FIRST place a suitable recepticle on your computer desk in order to catch your vomit - I forgot to do that and now have to replace my keyboard.

Yes the Ebay system is a little problematic but they can be contacted by phone and if you hang on long enough and ignore the automated sysetm you get to speak to a human being
