Hi everyone:

I just found this site, and it’s excellent. I’m an aspiring whistler looking for guidance and inspiration, and I am finding it here, so thank you.

I was wondering if session etiquette frowns on more than one whistler in a session/on a tune? I’ve played a few other instruments so I am not new to session etiquette but I am new to being a whistler. And it’s kind of apparent that some people will pretty much slag off every instrument that is not the one they play as being somehow not as important. Do any of you have thoughts/views on this?

I personally love whistlers at sessions, and hope to be one someday soon.

Nix. I was saving the opening for someone with the wherewithal to answer the question intelligently.

Expat, what I’d really do if I were you, and wanted opinions on session etiquette is do a search, using the words session AND etiquette. There have been some lively discussions.
