Did you try switching the new style Howard head from the C to your old D? Just wondering if you think the new head is an improvement.

I actually have a Howard with a new head now (in a cool metallic green :smiley: ), and yes I think it is an improvement. Not much change in the sound, but the playability and responsiveness are noticably better.
