New Howard mouthpiece

I just received a new Howard mouthpiece for my low C yesterday. It’s slightly different from the old one, a very subtle but effective change. I emailed Mr. Howard and he said there were some changes in the mouthpiece as recent as February. Three noticeable changes: 1) no wings inside the windway, 2) the ramp increases in angle slightly about 2/3 the way out, and 3) the windway is wider at the mouthend. Actually, it appears the windway is the biggest change. It is wider, but looking at it from where it goes into the mouth, it is wider at the top of the opening, like a wide, upside-down trapezoid. It looks wider at the mouth end than at the window end. These are very subtle differences, but the biggest difference is the volume. The whistle is now stronger on the bottom end, and louder overall, not greatly, but noticeable. It made me like my Howard low C again.
