New house. Woo hoo!

We just moved into a new house less than 1/2 mile from our old one. Now, for the first time, we have a back yard. If the chiff gathering gets off the ground this year, we’ll have a very cool place to play tunes. Here are some photos I took today.

Incidentally, the acoustics inside are great for music. I have my primo stereo from the old days set up and it sounds sweet. And whistles? Oh man.

Beautiful, Tony - congratulations!

Susan

you have a lovely garden, Tony

Geat news Tony. May it be filled with music and joy. Woo Hoo!!

SCHWEET!
Nice yard, Tony.

Keep that potted maple watered well, I just lost one to a dry wind the other day :sniffle:

Congratulations. Very nice yard. You got yer gaze-bo and all.

Lovely and inviting! Wish I was close enough to stop in at the Whistle Gathering and experience it first hand.

After all those years in the condo…man, you guys really had delayed gratification. Looks beautiful. And ya didn’t even ask me to help you move. Oh well, I was busy anyway.

Thanks guys. I’m thinking of putting up a hay bail and archery target. My wife says to be sure and put the target away from the house. And she intimated I was planning on killing her dog. (Ask me no questions, I’ll tell you no lies.)

I thought about you Lance, but I decided to let you off the hook. We did pretty much all the heavy lifting on week days. (Weekends were weak days. -good pun, there.) Peggy’s got some biceps, you know. Anyway, gotta go sit outside and practice some.

Yeah, a better class of people than me. There goes the neighborhood.
Tony

At least someone knows how to pronounce it correctly.

Congrats, Tony!

Really nice! Great yard! Here’s wishing you many happy years in it!

Nicely landscaped yard. As a lover of houses, I want more house pics.

You know, as someone who’s always lived in the country, it never occured to me to be thankful for a yard. Now I am. It’s easy to overlook obvious blessings I suppose.

Any wild fish in that creek behind the fence? Now that would be my idea of a dream garden? (fishing on your own property  ).

Nice!

I can see the correct spot for the keg of Smithwicks.

Can I tell 'em about the dog, can I Tony, huh, huh, huh???

I doubt there’s any fish in the creek. It goes from waist deep in winter to ankle deep now. There’s a lot of deer, racoon, possum, squirrels, and unlimited birds.

You can say whatever you like about that varmint. No skin off my nose.

I can see the correct spot for the keg of Smithwicks. big grin

Yes, there’s a spot labeled for the same.

I’ll get a couple of house pictures posted.
Tony

Congrats on the new place. I’m glad to find out we’re not the only ones who would buy a house within a couple miles of the old one. I thought we were a bit nuts!

And I like the gazebo, I saved the photo off to show my wife.

Congratulations, indeed!

It looks like you’ve got a wonderful spot for a summer party - as a (lazy) gardener myself, I really like your new yard. (I’ve got to get out and work in mine - I just got back from a two-week business trip. Gardens are like kids - they need attention on a regular basis. And reward you in direct proportion to the time you give them.)

Word of advice re the creek: don’t leave any dog- or cat- food outside at night, or you’ll have lots of furry little burglars (complete with masks) coming by to visit. And though they look cute, you don’t want to tangle with Procyon Lotor, AKA “The Raccoon” (ya know they’re a real crook when they’ve got well-established aliases and everything :smiling_imp: )

Keep your eye on that creek. They’re picturesque and all, but . . .

My house a couple weeks before Dec. 31, 2005:

(The water wound up cresting a little below the window, in the end.)

If next winter’s like this past one, just stay wary.

Looks like a lovely yard, though!
