New Gflute/F flute combo!

Dave Copley wrote this in response to my question in another thread:
'To answer Jim Stone’s question, I will be making a G flute using the same head and foot as the F flute (Hawkes and Son design). ’

This is Very Good News. Dave’s F flute absolutely rocks.
It has a lovely tone, it’s perfectly balanced, good volume;
I’ve played it a lot on the street. The G body would be
a very welcome addition. Gets you G and C, among other
keys. It may be the definitive G flute.

Thought this deserves a thread of its own.
The country badly needs a G flute of the quality
this promises to be.

I wonder if that means that the G he is making for me that will be done in August is the first?

Bottom line I look forward to it! I didn’t order the F body, I don’t know that I will ever play in F

F is a nice key, the flute sounds very good.
I believe John Skelton had some input into the design of Dave’s
F flute and I’ve heard that John practices on the F flute
I’ve not seen Dave’s G flute but the F flute is entirely
likeable.

As I recall John’s F Hawkes was one of the flutes David used for measurements, etc.
